There is an escape involved in being a Christian; it is an escape from the corrupting, degrading and ruining powers of unholy lust and ungodly desires propelled by the sinful nature—the Old nature. This Old nature is known as the Adamic nature; the Old Man; the corrupt nature human nature, the flesh, etc. 

This is the nature that is responsible for every confusion, contradiction, chaos and perversion we see everywhere in the world. It is completely contrary and opposing to God and His purposes - Romans 8:5-8.
